Ask us to look at your garage floor
I measure the garage, check the old floor and ask what you'll park or store.
Request an estimateWhat does a new garage floor involve in Saratoga?
Garage floor concrete is a new slab poured over packed ground inside your garage. It's sloped so water, oil and fuel drain out instead of pooling under your car or running toward the house. We pour garage floors across Saratoga, and the ground underneath does more than anything else to decide how long yours lasts.
Most people call us because the old floor has cracked, sunk at one end or holds a puddle under the car, or because a remodel needs a new slab. The price mostly comes down to the size of the garage, how thick the slab has to be for what you'll park or store, whether it needs rebar, the steel that helps hold a slab together, and how much ground work it takes before the pour. The schedule depends on what the city wants before work starts and on the days the concrete needs before you load it. I'll give you a figure for your own garage at the estimate visit and tell you then whether a permit is likely to apply.
How we handle garage floor concrete
Most of the work on a garage floor goes into the ground, because soft spots under a slab crack it no matter how good the concrete on top is. We dig out to the subgrade, the soil the slab sits on, and compact it evenly instead of just raking it level. Then we set forms with the floor sloped toward the door so spills run out rather than toward the house. We pour in the cooler part of the day so the top doesn't dry weak and dusty, and we cut control joints as soon as the concrete can take the saw. Those are shallow grooves that give the slab a straight, planned place to crack. While it cures, the slow hardening that sets its strength, we keep it damp. If you plan to park something heavy or put in a lift, we'll talk about bringing in an engineer and a thicker slab instead of counting on mesh. And if the budget has to give somewhere, I'd rather trim the finish than the ground work, since a nice surface on soft dirt won't hold up.
A new floor often brings up the rest of the garage. If you'd like color or a pattern on the slab or the approach, our decorative concrete work can be done at the same time. Where the garage or driveway sits against a slope, concrete retaining walls hold the bank back so dirt and water stay off the new concrete.
Garage floor concrete in Saratoga and what the city asks for
In Saratoga, the general rule is that most construction, alteration, repair or demolition work needs a permit before it starts, so we check early on what the City of Saratoga wants for your garage floor. When a permit applies, we handle the contractor's side and help you with the parts that fall to you as the owner. The city also inspects the slab after any piping, conduit or other lines under the floor are in place and before any concrete goes down. A floor drain, a water line or conduit for a car charger has to be planned and set before pour day, not added after.
We plan pour day around the city's work hours, which are 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, with no work on Sundays or weekday holidays. We're based in Saratoga and work across it and the cities around it. On garage jobs in Los Gatos and Cupertino, we see the same mix of older attached garages with tired floors and new garages going in with remodels.
Why call us for garage floors
I write your estimate myself
I come out myself to look at the garage and write the estimate, and I'm there to check the forms and the pour our own crew does. You deal with the same person from the first visit to the finished floor.
In business since 2021
I started this business in 2021 after years running an equipment rental shop, where I learned the trade beside the finishers who rented from me. That counter habit stuck, so I'll explain any part of your job as many times as you need.
Fully licensed and insured crew
We're fully licensed and insured. In California, an unlicensed person can take only minor jobs under $1,000 that need no permit and use no hired workers, so ask anyone bidding your floor whether they're licensed.
Debris leaves with approved haulers
In Saratoga, only the city's approved collection contractors may haul construction and demolition debris, and only to approved facilities, so we line one up before work starts. That keeps the cleanup within the city's rules and off your list.

On a garage floor, the ground under the slab matters more than anything you'll see on top. Ask for a visit and I'll walk you through how we'd prepare yours.
Get a written estimate for your garage floor
Send the garage size, what the old floor looks like and anything heavy you plan to park or install. We reply within one business day to set a time, and I come out myself to look at the job and write the estimate. It's free, done at your property, and there's no pressure to book.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a new concrete garage floor cost in the Bay Area?
A concrete slab in the Bay Area usually costs about $8 to $16 per square foot. That's a general regional range, not a Saratoga quote or our price. A reinforced slab costs more per square foot than a plain pad, so a floor built for heavy loads lands higher. I'll give you a figure for your garage at the estimate.
Can I pour my own garage floor in Saratoga instead of hiring a contractor?
You may be able to, because Saratoga lets property owners do the work themselves under the Owner-Builder exemption when it's for their own use and not for sale or rent. The city notes that important responsibilities come with that choice, so ask the city what they are before you start. If you'd rather hand it off, I'm glad to explain the job either way.
How long does a new garage floor take to cure before I can use it?
You should be able to walk on a new slab within 48 hours, but concrete takes about a month, 28 to 30 days, to fully cure. A cautious plan waits a week before heavier loads go onto the new floor, and we'll go over what to hold off on when we finish.
Is wire mesh enough to make a garage floor strong?
No, not on its own. Wire mesh mainly holds the edges of a crack together after a slab cracks, and it adds little real strength to a thin slab. If you expect heavier loads, plan on a thicker slab rather than counting on mesh.
Will a new garage floor crack like my old one?
It may show some fine cracks over time, because concrete does that, and I'd rather tell you now than have it surprise you later. The cracks that sink or split a floor usually trace back to uneven ground underneath, which is why the ground work gets most of our effort. The control joints we cut give the rest a planned place to go.
What is the best way to compare bids for a new garage floor?
Ask each contractor first how they'll prepare and compact the ground, because that's the single most important factor in how a slab holds up. Then ask about slope and joints. Give everyone the same garage size and the same list of heavy loads so the bids cover the same floor.
Other concrete work around your garage
Decorative concrete
If plain gray isn't what you want, color, patterns and textured finishes can give your garage floor or the concrete outside it a look that suits the house.
Concrete retaining walls
A garage cut into a slope often needs a solid wall to hold soil back from the driveway and keep runoff from washing across your new concrete.
